What is the JAAC?
JAAC stands for 'Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee. The JAAC is committee made up of community representatives who advise and support several organizations in the creation and implementation of their Accessibility plans. It was decided to create one committee to support several organizations in the region to make the best use of available resources and to avoid duplicating efforts. While each organization has its own accessibility plan and distinct challenges and opportunities, our end goal of improving accessibility is the same, and we are able to collaborate on ideas and help each other. The organizations supported by the JAAC include:
- City Of Terrace
- Regional District Of Kitimat-Stikine (RDKS)
- Terrace Public Library
- Kitimat Public Library
- Stewart Public Library
