May 2025 Update - Next steps

Key staff members from the City of Terrace, including the Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, FireSmart Coordinator, City Manager, and Director of Development Services have reviewed the first draft of the Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan (CWRP). Their feedback and suggestions have helped shape the final draft version of the plan.

The City will now submit the plan for review to the BC Wildfire Service Prevention Officer in charge of the process, and then to the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) for final reporting of our FireSmart grant. (The CWRP is essential for securing funding for the ongoing years of the Terrace FireSmart program.)

This summer, the Terrace FireSmart team and our consultants will present the plan to the Terrace City Council. The CWRP will also be made available to the public.
