Survey & Next Steps

Thank you to all that came out on one of the hottest night of the year to explore options for a new or revitalized skatepark, or an "all wheel park". We had over 70 residents attend, with the youngest being under 2 years old.

Last night's session was the first of two planned public information sessions that will be held prior to the delivery of a feasibility concept plan. With New Line Skateparks leading the process, this first session introduced the project and gathered initial community thoughts on the existing park.

Survey

As part of this process, we are also launching a survey, which closes August 15, 2025.

Next Steps

Based on the feedback from last night and input collected through the survey, New Line will:

  • Prepare a lifecycle evaluation of the existing park and full analysis of location for proposed redevelopment program.
  • Assist the City in establishing a target facility redevelopment scale and estimated upset budget based on anticipated user group population, regional construction cost data, and benchmarking from similar municipal skatepark developments across British Columbia.

Newline will return to Terrace early fall to hold a second public information sessions and present a concept and the preliminary project vision and general development approach.

New Line will draft the final feasibility report and reviewed it with City Staff after the second public information session.
