June 2025 update - contract awarded, detailed bike park plan

The contract for phase 1 of revitalizing Tetrault Park, which focuses on the bike skills park, has been awarded to Bike Track Ltd.
As part of the contract, the company has submitted a detailed draft bike park plan. While the skills park may not be exactly as per the draft plan, it will be very close.
In addition to what was included in the original concept plan, the following has been added:
- Asphalt tot loop - to meet the needs of the youngest riders (including those with scooters!) in the community
- Additional jump line
According to Tara Irwin, the City's Director of Parks, Recreation & Culture, the bike skills park has been designed with diverse levels of riders in mind. Some park features, such as the tot loop, will appeal more to young and new riders, while the more advanced lines will challenge intermediate and advanced riders and help with their skill development.
Irwin presented the draft detailed bike park plan to City Council at the June 9 Council meeting.
The total budget for phase 1 of this project is $150,000, approved by Council at the meeting.
