2024 Budget Consultation Results
At the January 8, 2024, regular council meeting, staff presented the results of the 2024 Budget Consultation.
Each year, the City is required under the Community Charter to hold public consultation on the upcoming budget and 5-year financial plan. This year, as in the past two years, our consultation included a comprehensive budget overview document for the public to review online or on paper. Following public feedback, we simplified the questions this year and also removed the registration requirement for online feedback through Engage Terrace.
We collected feedback from November 29 to December 22, 2023, and received 31 responses, all online. This is comparable to the 25 received in 2023 and the 34 in 2022.
This year, we also included an in-person component, providing members of the public with the opportunity to comment in person or online through Microsoft Teams at last night's meeting. However, no members of the public were present.

The 2024 budget cycle is complete. Now, staff can begin implementing it. See you later this year when we get started on the plan for 2025!
